Delhi Airport Terminal 2 has been redesigned in order to host the low cost carriers while the expanding works will be performed. It is expected that once Terminal 1 reopens again, it will be demolished to build new Terminal 4.

Terminal 1 will be expanded and by thus increase its handling capacity up to 40 million passengers per year by 2021. Transfer between terminals
In order to transfer between terminals, Delhi Airport offer free terminal transfer services to their passengers:
- From International to Domestic: There is shuttle service between the international and the domestic terminal evert 20 minutes.
- Between Domestic Terminals: Complimentary Golf cart service is available for passengers who may transfer from Terminal 1 concourses.
